JSpell has been extensively tested on the widest possible range of browsers, operating systems and network configurations which assures consistent operation and the highest availability.
Our spell checker has been designed with the web in mind. It is not a retrofit of legacy code attempting to work in a web environment.
JSpell uses its own dictionaries, it does not rely on Microsoft Word, as many of our competitors do. In fact, by relying on Microsoft Word to perform spell checking, our competitors are operating in violation of the Microsoft CSAPI license agreement.
JSpell is an in-process application, which means it offers the best performance available. Our competitors use slow and memory intensive techniques such as CGI and PHP that spawn an individual process on your web server for each spell check session. On a web site getting a couple of hundred visits a day this might be ok, but if you have a larger web site or plan to grow into one, then JSpell is your best choice.
Our client side code takes a minimum amount of space. Some of our competitors require a 400K download to perform a spell check!
